While our day-to-day lives largely revolve around ice sports and Super-Glide Synthetic Ice, we do occasionally make time for other activities!  Last weekend, Perry and Susan took a trip to Weedon Island, Florida with some friends for a little kayaking adventure.  They explored Weedon Island, which offers a great kayak trail through the mangroves.  The cold has affected the wildlife, they noticed far less of it than usual, but the weather was perfect and the scenery was beautiful!  If you get a chance to kayak Weedon Island, it is a great trip -- about 2 hour ride.  Rental kayaks are available if you need one.

Here's a little something from our Canadian distributor, Dean Sprung.  This article references a rink he sold and installed for the owners of IT Weapons, a computer consulting firm in Ontario.

From the Globe and Mail - "A hockey rink in the office?  Yup."

We received a delightful thank you note from Aldo Esposito and Doug Messier of the Pee Wee New York Rangers youth hockey team. Thanks for the kind words, gentlemen! We applaud the work you're doing with the kids and are glad we can help.

Perry,

We wanted to thank Global Synthetic Ice for your generous donation. The Pee Wee New York Rangers are a select travel hockey team comprised of kids from the tri-state region that compete in the Quebec pee wee hockey tournament. The funds we raise from our sponsors provides the players an opportunity to participate in our program. Your ad will be placed in our program and circulated in the hockey community here as well as distributed at a New York Ranger Hockey Game. Your products will be used by the kids to develop their shot, with goals of achieving success on higher level teams.

Thank you again.

We received confirmation from Francisco Lopez, our Global Synthetic Ice distributor in Chile, that his family and his business were not directly affected by the earthquake and all is well with them.  His thoughts, and ours, go out to the poor people of Chile, who he says were more impacted by the quake, but the damage does not compare to the devastation in Haiti.  Fransisco also stated that earthquakes are very common in Chile, and they view them much the same as Americans might view a tornado.

Thanks for the update, Fransisco, we're glad you're okay!
