Smiggin' Holes Webcam
As we've mentioned before, Richard Pembroke has a Super-Glide synthetic ice rink set up at a ski resort in the snowy mountains of Australia. Well, now you can see it on the Smiggin' Holes Webcam! If you're watching from the US, bear in mind that the time in Australia is about 14 hours ahead of us, so you'll likely need to watch between 8pm and 4am to see any skaters!
If you want to see something cool, try clicking the little "12" calendar icon in the lower right. That will give you a month-long time-lapse, and for another week or so, you'll be able to see the rink being built just as the winter snow takes over the valley!

Developing the Ultimate Skater with Super-Glide: Part 2
If you missed Part 1, you can view it here. Or both videos are available in HD on YouTube!
Global Synthetic Ice is proud to make available to all skaters, free of charge, a new hockey skater training video series called "Developing the Ultimate Skater with Super-Glide". In these videos, skating and synthetic ice expert, Perry Boskus, demonstrates proper technique with a teen student.
The first video in the series covers the very basics of skating and would be appropriate for the first-time skater, or even a long-time skater looking to improve their technique. It details many of the common mistakes that novice skaters (and some experienced skaters) make and how to train to avoid them.
Future videos in the series will go into detail about backward skating, turning, power skating and an obstacle Course that lets the skater improve all aspects of skating in a fun way. Look for these videos here, on the main Global Synthetic Ice website, or on YouTube!
